Antonio Monzino VII

Born in 1938, the President of the Antonio Carlo Monzino Foundation represents the seventh generation of the historic Monzino family, active in the musical instrument sector since 1767. Following hands-on and international training – including a formative experience at Premier in the UK – he took over the management of the family business in 1972, leading it toward significant international expansion. Under his leadership, the Monzino Group established strong relationships with global brands such as Yamaha, Roland, and Gibson, achieving a turnover of nearly 50 million euros in 2010.

Through collaborations with international partners, he actively positioned the company in major global markets and industry fairs, including NAMM in the United States (since 1967) and other key events in Europe and Asia. This global approach enabled the company to anticipate transformations in the music market, develop proprietary brands, and forge strategic joint ventures that ensured business and employment continuity.

In addition to his entrepreneurial endeavors, the President founded the Antonio Carlo Monzino Foundation in 1999, dedicated to promoting music as an educational tool, preserving the art of luthiery, and supporting young musicians. Deeply convinced of music’s universal power, he has championed internationally focused projects such as Nati per la Musica and the Scuola Musica Festival, engaging thousands of students and capturing the attention of prominent figures like José Antonio Abreu, founder of Venezuela’s El Sistema of youth orchestras.

Is commitment is also recognized on an associative level: inspired by the NAMM USA model, he is one of the founders of Dismamusica, the Italian association for the promotion of the musical instrument sector. With a vision that combines tradition and innovation, he continues to inspire projects that strengthen the Monzino family’s presence on the international musical landscape. In 2019, he promoted a meeting in Zurich to initiate a new European project (EMIA).
